WARKEM was founded by technocrats in 1978. The company manufactures hydrolyzed proteins and various bases meant for medical, pharmaceutical, cosmetics, fermentation and environmental use.

Warkem developed its own technology to manufacture a range og hydrolyzed proteins. Over the years, 300 of such products have been marketed globally and have competed favourably with other international products.

Our organization has adopted CE (European) Quality Standard for all our products to enable export of our products for use in European countries, USA and various other countries.

Refined series of various bacteriological ingredients are manufactured from various animal based proteins such as milk protein, soya, liver, gelatin etc. Single cell protein like yeast cells which completes the full range of bacteriological raw material required for culture media manufacture, fermentation industries, vaccine manufacturing units, Biotechnology industries etc.

Warkem Biotech was the first to introduce full series of vegetable protein hydrolysates thus replacing animal base protein hydrolysates, which makes these products free from risk of mad cow disease or other animal based viral disceases.

The new plant near Mumbai is state-of-the-art plant located at Ambernath. This plant has a dedicated section for animal free products.

This facility is unique in the sense that no other dedicated animal free products facility is known to exist for vegetable of peptones.
